Andy Williams

In 1961, Andy Williams married the stunning French dancer Claudine Longet, and together they had three children: Noel, Christian, and Robert. To the outside world, they seemed like the perfect showbiz family—handsome, talented, and untouchable. But behind the polished image, cracks began to appear. By the late 1960s, the marriage had deteriorated, and in 1975, the couple divorced. Despite the pain of their split, Andy and Claudine worked hard to co-parent their children, who mostly lived with their mother in Aspen, Colorado.

Just a year later, the family would be thrown into the national spotlight. In 1976, Claudine was charged with the shooting death of her boyfriend, Olympic skier Spider Sabich, in a case that captivated America. Though she was convicted of negligent homicide and served only 30 days in jail, the scandal was explosive. Through it all, Andy Williams publicly supported his ex-wife, doing his best to protect their children from the media storm.

Growing up in the shadow of both fame and scandal, the Williams children each chose very different paths in life.

Noel Williams, born in 1963, was just a teenager when the family faced the media circus in Aspen. For a brief moment in the 1980s, she tried to step into Hollywood, acting in The Sure Thing (1985) and the TV movie Model Behavior (1982). But fame wasn’t for her. After dabbling in modeling and attending glamorous events, Noel chose privacy over the spotlight. She married stuntman Ki Johnston in 1987, had four children, and quietly built a life far from Hollywood’s flashing cameras. Today, in her early 60s, she lives a peaceful, private life as a mother and grandmother.

Christian Williams, born in 1965, was the quiet soul of the family. A gifted student and athlete, he attended Stanford University before turning his back on the glitz of Beverly Hills. Drawn to a simpler life, he moved to Costa Rica, where he ran a successful teak tree farm and raised two daughters. To the locals, he was simply “Chris, the farmer,” not the son of a famous singer. His life was one of peace and nature—until tragedy struck in 2019, when he died in an accidental drowning at just 54. His death, seven years after Andy’s passing in 2012, was a devastating blow to the family, mourned quietly, just as Christian had lived.

Bobby Williams, the youngest, born in 1969, inherited his father’s love of performance but expressed it through athletics and adventure. A talented wrestler, he even competed in the U.S. Olympic trials before becoming a Hollywood stuntman. From daring motorcycle jumps to high falls, Bobby lived for adrenaline. Eventually, he shifted from physical stunts to promoting health and wellness, alongside his longtime partner, actress Mariel Hemingway, granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway. Together, they built a life centered on holistic living, fitness, and longevity, co-authoring a book and running wellness retreats. Now in his 50s, Bobby continues to live with the same fearless energy he carried as a young stuntman.

Through triumphs and heartbreak, the Williams children have lived extraordinary yet private lives. From Noel’s quiet motherhood to Christian’s life in the tropics and Bobby’s transformation into a wellness advocate, each child of Andy Williams has carved a path far from the showbiz spotlight their father once commanded. And in the echoes of Andy’s timeless voice, one can still hear the story of a family that weathered scandal, sought peace, and ultimately chose to live life on its own terms.
